About me

My name is Luciano Starna.

I grew up among tools and discovered the power of fire and metal when I was ten years old. I still remember the feeling of forging my first iron sword back then.

As a teenager, I began making and selling my own crafts, which eventually allowed me to travel across South America for several years. When I returned home, I started working with knives. I wasn’t happy with the quality of the blades I could buy, so I decided to learn how to make them myself. Through a lot of trial and error, I eventually turned my focus almost entirely to designing and producing my own pieces.

After a decade of bladesmithing, I felt the need to keep learning. My wife and I moved to Catamarca so I could attend the Public School of Silversmithing. There, I studied tool forging, lapidary, and traditional Argentine silverwork (Platería Criolla). Recently we’ve moved back to Buenos Aires, I’m back in the workshop, doing what I’m passionate about: making one of a kind blades to the best of my ability.

Workshop visits and custom work

My workshop is located in the Paternal neighborhood of Buenos Aires. While it is a working space rather than a storefront, I welcome visitors who would like to see my current pieces in person or discuss a custom project.
If you happen to be in the neighborhood or would like to stop by, please send me a message to arrange a time.
